Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage the facility, ensuring alignment with the company’s core values of “We LEAD,” while prioritizing health, safety, and hygiene compliance for all staff.
  • Responsible for the safety of all personnel on board, the seaworthiness and safe operation of the Unit (including its safety zone), its cargo, and third-party interests, in line with national, regional, and international laws, regulations, and the Company Management System.
  • Act as the leader and Company representative on board, holding ultimate responsibility and full authority to make necessary decisions to comply with the aforementioned requirements. The OIM may utilize Company resources for advice and assistance when required.
  • Ensure the Unit is operated in accordance with the contract between the Company and the Client.
  • Collaborate with the Client’s Representative to ensure safe operations and efficient hydrocarbon production within design parameters, while adhering to the Client’s production and injection plans.
  • Empowered to represent and bind the Company on matters related to Unit safety, without compromising the Company’s liability limitations. Commercial considerations must never override safety, security, or environmental protection.
  • The OIM may delegate duties to other personnel, ensuring those assigned are competent, understand their responsibilities, and perform them effectively. However, the OIM retains ultimate responsibility.
  • Ensure timely reporting of daily activities and incidents to onshore management (Operations Manager, HSSEQ, TMS) in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (Flag, Class, national, and international) and oversee the implementation and review of Company policies, including the annual offshore Management Review.
  • Oversee the control and update of all documentation and certification related to the Unit, ensuring compliance with Class and Flag authorities as per IMO regulations.
  • Manage the training, competency assessment, and performance evaluation of subordinates.
  • Provide feedback and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Promote a positive corporate culture on board through proactive communication and fostering a supportive working environment.
  • Implement the Safety Case where applicable.
  • Serve as the leader of the Emergency Response Team.
  • In consultation with Department Heads, prepare the facility budget and manage expenditures.
Education
  • Ideally a degree in Chemical/Production Engineering or similar. Extensive relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
Local Content Requirement
  • Ivorian Application strongly encouraged
Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role on board an FPSO.
  • Experience working on multiple Units within the Company is preferred.
  • Experience in a multicultural environment is desirable.
